Some retired friends of mine have an unusual hobby ? they build scale models of houses. These are so perfect that it would be an insult to call them dolls? houses. Anyway onto the motoring link. They would sometimes like to put a model car in the garage/on the drive. The standard scale for this hobby is 1/12 (1? to 1? in old money). Whilst there is a large choice in the various model railway scales and the popular 1/43 and 1/18 scales they have been able to find very little in 1/12 ? in fact only a Model T! There are plenty of motorcycles and scooters in 1/12 but where do you get cars? I looked in a model shop I know for them but they had nothing and no ideas. Many thanks.

Plenty of choice! Go to Ebay and search on "1/12 model" 246 hits of which many are cars.
Ok a lot are motorcycles, but you will find even find a Reliant buried amongst the exotica.

I would guess that there are others expressing the scale somewhat differently.
