03 2.0D Electrical Problems - alfie2
These Problems came at the same time. Remote C/Locking wont lock but will unlock, Engine dissabled and brake fault warning,dash lights for indicators and seat belt and lights on not working, Is there a module that affects all these ?
Would be very gratefull for any help

Check that your plenum chamber is not flooded and that the ECU is not having a bath!! Thats normally the first port of call. The link above has all the info for how to access the plenum chamber etc.

sounds like you may have a faulty EWS module or corrupted ZC's codes. These will need checking by an ex rover dealer with a T4. Do check for water ingress arond the wiring loom by the ECU module in the plenum chamber & glow plug module. water ingress causes havoc with these. If you have a Sat nav check for water ingress in the boot loom.

dash boards are a common failure & you can put the dash into a self test mode to test its full functions without diagnostic kit.

Many thanks for your help. took it today to a rover specialist and found a damp cd plug from when it was valeted, All OK Now
