Now deleted but I've uploaded the Jaguar "Battery Care Manual" which includes battery testing and may be of more general interest.
One thing that surprised me is that it can take between 30mins (X-Type) and 60mins (XK8) for the electrical systems to go to sleep completely.
Probably the most interesting piece of info is that the quiescent current draw should be less than 30mA.

if you leave the ignition on for about 40 mins on an x-type the dash shuts down & if you start the car without turning the ign off & back on you can drive all day without the milage recording on the speedo!
