1998 1.8 Heater fan only works on No.3 - mondeomanwestmids

Can anyone offer any advise. The heater only blows on No.3 but is cold. Get nothing at all from 1 or 2. Tried a 2nd hand tried and tested switch to no joy. Any advise will be much appreciated. Thanks.

I would think this is a fault with the speed resistor.It is clipped to the fan motor which can be accessed at the rear of engine bay,behind bulkhead,next to wiper motor.However this will not fix the no heat fault.this is a different issue.hth

Does the temperature gauge run up to normal?

Luckily Escorts were kept away from the motorised valve control.
