My mini cooper s is in for its last free service today.each time i have sent it in for the other service,I have pointed it out for attention.
Each time it has still been a problem.
It doesn't happen evey time, but most of the time.
Sometimes it has been stuck in the forward position, and i have been worried i would not be able to push it back to get in and drive. I am fairly strong, but it is tough,I have to give it a hard shove to get it to go back.
Bearing in mind they have takenaboutan hour and a half to do the service, whats the betting it is still going to be exactly the same!!
What are my rights here?

In the mid 90s, I got a new company car, Mk2 Cavalier.
Within a week of it being delivered, the drivers seat stuck in position nearest the steering wheel, my wife's driving position. The supplying dealer said "Call the AA to fix it as the seat position makes the car undriveable for you." After checking, the company hadn't yet paid the invoice for the car, the company told the dealer they would not be paying it until the seat was sorted out, the dealer then delivered a courtesy car which I used for a week while my seat was fixed.
I was in the fortunate position of my company having buying power and the dealer having an incentive to fix the car.
Is it too late for you to reject the car? bearing in mind they have failed to fix a fault on more than one occasion.

I think I can still reject it?

How long have you owned it?

As it's a periodic thing, it points to something that's sticking ocassionally - if it was broken-broken it probably wouldn't ever move. Wouldn't do any harm to just wd-40 all the runners, ratchets & catches - it could be just that simple. Don't tie yourself in knots about rights, confrontations , rejections etc., over such a potentially easy fix. Be a tool using human being!
