Just wondering if anyone could let me know how many litres of fuel (approx) would be left in the tank when the light comes on.

I just wanted to compare it to other cars ive driven.

Also could people with the same car let me know how many miles they get from a tank

cheers

I reckon about 5 litres left when the light comes on. It's not recommended to leave it that late before refilling, otherwise you risk getting the crud from the bottom of the tank in your fuel line.

Total capacity if brimming is about 65 litres.

I'm getting around 56 mpg these days, so tend to re-fill every 700 miles or so.

My Car is 1.9 SEDAN and i get 675-700 to a tank. This is mostly short trips. The warning light on mine can come up when i have 5 - 15 litres in tank. Hope this helps.

Newbie with D8A transplant into 97 XtDTe (Aust) DHY thrown out.
So far with full tank have done 104 KM and fuel gauge is still on full.

I estimate this car will go 1000-1200 km on a tank 4.8-5.0 litres /100 km.

Diesel is $1.83-$1.86 pl here damn those hedge funds.

My old 1994 306 1.9TD generally averaged 43mpg across the board and generally got between 520 and 580 miles from a full tank. That said, I did manage over 600 on a few occasions on continuous long steady runs. I always found that the economy on the old 1.9TD seemed to suffer if driven at much over 80mph and if booted around town.

The HDi engine is supposed to better the old 1.9 XUD engine by around 10mpg.

i can get about 800 miles from mine. You should easily get this if you drive it carefully unless there is something not quite right with your vehicle

Agreed. Since my previous post above I have been concentrating on squeezing more out of fuel and have achieved over 60 mpg on the last two fills (I always do brim-to-brim).

The tank has a capacity of around 65 litres, which is just over 14 gallons. At 60 mpg you would be able to go over 840 miles.

I calculated my consumption the other day (306 HDi 1999) and found I got 2340 miles from 176 litres, which is slightly over 60mpg (ignoring the fact that Peugeot miles are 1 or 2% shorter than real ones). The handbook says the tank is 13 galls or 60 litres, and the warning light cuts in with about 6 litres left. Bettr not to find out exactly how much is left - it's not worth the hassle.
