2001 1.9 turbo. Headlight and brake warning light - sparky100
Hi all, Could any body tell me whether you have to take the headlight out to change the sidelight lamp, can"t see any other option, strange design. Also the brake pad light came on a while ago, i checked the pads and they were fine. I disconnected the wire to the pads and cleaned it. But the warning light stayed on. Do i need to disconnect the battery to reset this. Thanks in advance. Sparky 100.

Access to the side and indicator bulbs requires removal of the headlight.Release the top part of the front panel/bumper (4 or 5 torx screws). The headlight is secured by 2 torx screws on the top (remove rubber buffers first)and torx screws at the back and side of light,by grille.A long shafted driver is needed for these and they only require releasing a few turns as they hold slotted brackets. As for the brake w/light,this could be a broken /shorting sensor lead.hth

Does the headlight come out ok when the screws are out. ? The indicator and sidelight bulbs can actually be accessed from a sliding panel in the wheel arch. No need for the headlight removal.

The back brakes also have a sensor. Make sure the pads there are ok too.
