how do you turn off the service light on my sons car it has been serviced but dont know how to turn light off Many thanks

Next to the service [spanner] light is the reset button. Press it for 4 seconds with the ignition on.

There should be a diagram in the handbook.

Yes - and between the spanner and the brake pad light there should be a flush button?

I have a mondeo R reg 1997-8 2l I have looked in the glove compartment as per Haynes manual no button, also where you have suggested I do not see any flush button. Any other ideas how to reset the light?

Next to the spanner symbol is a tiny hole.Use the tip of an opened up paper clip to push the spring loaded button within.(ignition on)hth

This is a problem that has gone away on my 98 Mondeo.
At present, this is the only bulb that is failed and I have no intention of replacing it.
(It has never been mentioned when the car has had a service) :-)
