2002 1.4 - Power Steering - Megane_fidji_1.4_2002
I have an old shape megane (2002) which has developed a problem with the steering.

When the car is cold, the steering is stiff (very heavy). Once the wheel is turned, it clicks and the steering feels fine, except for this click which is still present. I can feel the click on either direction of turning and if probably at around 130 degrees of turning.

Once the car is warmed, the click is gone and there is no noticable problem.

The initial stiffness is far worse in cold weather, and even feels as if the fluid is frozen.

A friend said it sounds like either the bearing or the pump needs replacing.

Any advice appreciated
