Doesn't look like it, but check your engine code with these...
www.vagcat.com/
MIDDLE EXHAUST SILENCER WITH EXHAUST SILENCER, REAR 1.6ltr.
1.9ltr.
4 cylinder:
ALZ
diesel eng.:
AVB
MIDDLE EXHAUST SILENCER
EXHAUST SILENCER, REAR 1.8-2.8ltr.
fr.wheeldrv:
AWT,AZM,AZX,
AMX,BBG,ALT
AWM
diesel eng.:
MIDDLE EXHAUST SILENCER
EXHAUST SILENCER, REAR

To be clearer
exhaust silencer, rear
/ AWT,AWM
(3) 3B0253609E
exhaust silencer, rear
/ AMX,BBG
(3) 3B0253609L
exhaust silencer, rear
/ AZM,ALT
(3) 3B0253609AN
exhaust silencer, rear
/ AVF,AKN,AWX
3 3B0253609AH
There are 4 versions, you need to compare your own 3 digit engine code with that of the one you are thinking of getting an rear box for and make sure theya re the same part no.

Hi, Thanks for your help, sorted now. Cheers

hi
just acquired a 1.9tdi o3 se passat! do you know what oil I should use & what sort of oil consumption can i expect
sorry for the change of thread topic!
|
For oil type, it is essential that the oil meets the VW505.01 specification. This is because the fuel injectors on these engines are driven off cam lobes which are subject to incredibly heavy loadings. Non approved oil is likely to destroy these lobes very quickly, leading to very expensive engine damage.
As for oil consumption, these aren't especially heavy once run in. Most people I know with PD engines on fixed service intervals top them up only once between changes.
Cheers
