Picked up my friend's Accord yesterday, to take into supplying dealer. She had noticed a sudden, intermittent loss of power, at around 2500 rpm, with glowplug light coming on and flashing.
On driving car yesterday, no warning lights illuminated, but throttle felt unresponsive (no way as lively as my 130bhp TDCi Mondeo). Got car warmed up, then found a stretch of dual-carriageway where I could hold it in gear and get the revs up (had to be low gear - average speed cameras!). Hit 4000rpm and engine cut out, glow plug light flashing; would not restart while coasting. Stopped car, and got engine restarted at third attempt, with engine management light now permanently illuminated, but no glow plug light.
After further restart, vehicle feels fine, and no warning lights.
Has gone into dealer at 8am this morning - will let you all know what they find.

Just picked car up. Sticking EGR valve is the diagnosis. Replace under warranty when part available (Wednesday next). Will post back with result

EGR valve replaced, and car now driving like it should.

See Gordon M's threads in discussion on his Accord EGR problems.

My EGR now replaced. From a single 10 mile drive it appears to be sorted. Hope so, don't fancy yet more time off the road for a new fuel pump.

Watch out! My Accord did this, (April 2004 model). It needed a new Injector Pump; very expensive! Symptoms were exactly like you described.
