Sometimes it is ok for a few days, other times I can't clear it at all. I have tried taking the battery off to reset the ECU, but no joy. I suspect it is either an ECU problem or something to do with the fuel supply? When it does do it and I switch off the engine appears to run on for a few seconds, could this be a clue?
Also last night it now stalls when I take my foot off the gas whilst driving, could be related? Does anyone have any idea whats going on with this car>? Could anyone please point me in the right direction??"

So when you go over a bump, the ABS[?] light flashes for a second?
Have the ABS system read for fault-codes by your local garage and see what's amiss.

I've just left a post on another thread. The ECU failed completely on my 306 hdi and had numerous electrical problems which appear to be a feature of french cars.
ECU is a possibility...
