Merc A class - mark
Her in doors fancies an A160 she's seen at the local MB dealer.

I think these are over priced and she would be better off with a normal estate - say a Focus.

Has anyone out there had any A class experience?

Yes .A hire car for two days it was the worst motoring experience of my live.By the way they are called the tupperware car here in Germany due to the large amounts of cheap plastic .Look where the battery is first.Secondly if you do buy make sure it has a spare wheel and not a tin of gas.My colleage has a diesel focus and is more than pleased.

See car by car breakdown at www.honestjohn.co.uk for some new problems occuring with the A Class. Like a boot full of petrol.

Re: Merc A class - simon

I have driven several models for two day periods, whilst they are fine for suburban runabouts & dual carriageways, once you get them on twisty country roads, they are not relaxing to drive at all.I do not enjoy the high driving position (some might) & feel as if I am in a white van.Build quality is not up to Mercedes standard (Which, in my opinion, is generally dropping anyway)

Re: Merc A class - David Lacey
Mark - forget the A class - it is overpriced and over-rated. The build quality is awful, seats uncomfortable and driving position not to everybody's liking. Interior is full of cheap squeaky grey plastic. The switchgear 'feels' cheap and squeaky aswell. Go out and buy something sensible with a 3 yr warranty
