'01 1.2 Engine misfire. - Flycog
The wifes Corsa 1.2 has a intermittent missfire, the car is driveable and no EML showing. I have changed the plugs. My next thought is to change the coil pack. Anyone had similar problem.

does it have direct coils on plugs ?
If ht leads are fitted change them First before coil pack. Check if you can see any sparks jumping about, (best check at night so you can see the little blue spikes from the leads.
Check rotor arm + cap for burns or cracks in cap.
What year is your car ? (changed a bit from mrfix's original)

Gents
The Corsa is a 2001 1.2 16v. No dist or rotor arm and no HT leads. Just a coil pack fixed to the spark plugs.
Cheers

no ht leads ... how do you get the juice from the coil to the sparkplugs then?

Each plug has what's called a coil pack connected directly to it.

oic, dd ... must be the crank sensor or the low tension feed to the coil packs thats at fault then?

Just a thought. Our Corsa won't run properly on supermarket petrol. Runs well though on Shell, BP, Texaco, Esso and Total.

You're not filling up at Sainsbury's or Tesco or similar are you?

If so, that may be your problem.

Remember start with basic's Spark Plugs. Leads, Coil/Coils. Look for cracks discoloured leads. Check TDC Sensor for iron bits clean and try.
These did have sticking valve issues. so a good hot run may help, supermarket fuel no detergents. try Top Brand Fuel ever 3rd tank. Forte do a valve cleaning solution try this.
Fingers crossed.

If after replacing the spark plug, your still getting this code - Open up your camshaft and tighten every last bolt before it snaps. They come loose over time, its a manufacturing fault, hence tapping noise - eventually snapping your camshaft. Problem solved.
