Temperature gauge not working - mak
Hello all,

The son has left his pick-up with me whilst he is on holiday. Its the 2.5 diesel turbo. Whilst driving from the airport I noticed that the engine temperature gauge is not working, the needle does not move at all. I am keeping an eye on the coolant level just in case. Is this a common problem and easily rectified or am I looking at possibly a new sender or a new gauge? How do I determine what is at fault? It would be nice to solve this for the son before his return.

Temperature gauge not working - piston power
The temp sensor wire if you put it to earth does the temp gauge sweep over to hot nice and easy? if yes then id replace the temp sensor for a start, you could try cleaning the contacts etc.
if not then maybe the gauge is faulty or a loose connection on gauge?
