K11 Micra.
My right rear brake light isn't coming on.
I replaced the bulb with one of the correct type, from Halfords.
It still doesn't come on.
Any ideas. The left brake light is OK.
Thanks

IF one is coming on and other isn't pedal switch is probably OK. But check it for any loose wires.
First step is to check for +12V across the brake light terminals for bulb when pedal is pushed.
If you have +12V then bulb is either wrong type or defective. (Not all new bulbs work, sometimes get dropped!, but can be checked by applying 12V directly to bulb or putting in left side cluster)
Otherwise check for broken wiring joints or corrosion (ie clean up terminals) in the light cluster.
Check that the right cluster still has a good earth connection (ie all other lights working).
If no luck there then check brake light relay (if there is one) and wiring.
If it is a wiring break in the loom, then probably a job for an auto electrician.

Pedal switch seems OK.

Will check this. I have tried several bulbs. None seem to work. Is it possible to insert these incorrectly? The first time I tried, the bulb dropped out.

Will clean up terminals.

Hope it doesn't come to this.

- Holder maybe damaged if bulbs fall out, most go in with a push then a turn, but should still give 12V. Sometimes if water gets into them the brass/plated metal connections/Springs can rot, but the corrosion should be obvious.

Turned out I wasn't pushing the bulb in hard enough to seat it propertly.
Which explains why the bulb dropped out...
Thanks
