1998 Audi 1.8T A6 digi Display - Peter D
98 A6. Today although the display light to tell you the door is open and 'OK' once the engine is running the display appears totally blank. I note the car was rather hot due to sunshine. Any Ideas. Regards Peter

Deterioration of LCD display - they all do it eventually, but the cheapo VAG variety seem to go fairly quickly.

Expensive to fix - and not worth doing on an old vehicle. Just close the doors properly.

Hi

Have not been in this particular car, but on my 2002 A4 it is an option on the stalk on the right to toggle between 2 options for the trip / MPG display and turning the whole display off. Try fiddling with the button underneath the stalk to see if it comes back.

As it was the wife it happend to then the button was the first thing I tried. Strange that the system 'OK' works but not the display functions not one of them. Regards Peter

Update. I used the Test Botton and it showed all the symbols normally associated with the display in sequence than on completion the display came on as normal, no problem. Regards Peter
