Hi All,
I'm just wondering whether to buy a used Ford Mondeo now, or wait for the new model to come out later this month? My thinking is that when the new model comes on the market, fleets and private owners will trade in for the new model, which has had god reviews and therefore pushing the used prices down.
Does anyone think this effect will happen, and if it does will the price drop be enough to put off buying for a month or so?
Thanks for any ansers or opinions
Cheers

Fleets "dont trade in" when a new model comes out. They are all on fixed term periods.
A month will make little difference.

There are some good deals on the outgoing model at the moment.
Most fleets run them to 3 or 4 years, so the auctions will have a steady flow of the old model for the next couple of years.

Hire fleets run Fords until about 10,000 miles - my Focus was 6 months old. If you are happy about buying one, ex hire cars should be on the forecourt around Christmas.

TokyoStormDrain? Very good.
It's a buyer's market for the current Mondeo. And there's no doubt it's a terrific car. Except for the TDCi of course.

What was the problem with the TDCi? I'm idly considering an early Mondeo (new shape, about 2001-ish) as you seem to be able to get a surprising amount of car for the money, but I hadn't got around to looking at the variants yet.
