Can I buy an electric or hybrid car for £4000?

We are looking for a small electric or hybrid car, for under £4k, which can travel say 150-200 miles on a full charge and is auto. What would you recommend ?

With a relatively modest budget the choice of hybrid and electric vehicles would be quite small. Cars such as the Honda Jazz Hybrid and Insight, Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, Toyota Yaris, Prius and Auris would likely be your only options in terms of hybrids. For electric vehicles you would be limited to earlier versions of the Nissan Leaf and older EV designs such as the Peugeot iOn.
