Having done all the usual net searches, could anyone please advise if they know of a small suitcase type tyre pump/compressor which runs from the 240v mains, as opposed to the 12v accessory socket type?
One of these has just timed out on Ebay. It was a grey plastic case incorporating a carry handle, with the lead and hose stowed within the case. The name on it was " Boxy " and it was produced in Italy. The Ebay seller stated that these were available from B&Q under a different name but my local B&Q deny any knowledge.
Any hints or pointers much appreciated. Thank you.

can you clarify why you need such a thing?

Just bought one that operates off mains, internal battery or 12v car socket. Got it from Argos - it's called 'The Air Monster'. Not suitcase shape but has a carry handle and all the gear stows in various cubby holes within the body.

I would guess that the Argos one is basically a 12-volt motor, but with a mains adaptor incorporated.
Presumably the OP is looking for a proper 240 volt compressor? If you want to inflate a newly-fitted tyre you need a lot higher ouput than a 12-volt job is capable of, in order to spring the beads onto the wheel seatings.

Would be useful to know why its wanted? For what main purpose etc?
Maybe better off with proper compressor? even if not suitcased they do come in small sizes now!

Thanks R40, but had discounted that one for the same reasons outlined by Mr Pope ( Thanks Mr Pope )
If anyone out there knows of a place in UK where the " Boxy " can be obtained ( I can only find reference to the item in Belgium ) or if anyone can tell me what name the units had when being sold by B&Q, then I would be most grateful.
Thanks to all.

Many thanks to AS.
That sounds like the item because, although the one on Ebay was all grey plastic, the one shown on the Belgian website is one side grey, the other orange. Typical of B&Q not to have an immage available but will nip back over to them in the morning and see if I can get any sense.
Many thanks again.
