Long time since I've been under a car - but needs must.
Anyone have any idea how easy it is to adjust the handbrake cable on a 2001 Shuma Manual? Logic says it should be quite straightforward but if I'm going to get under the car and then discover I'm out of my depth then I won't even bother getting the jack out of its box!
BTW - to give you an idea of my skill level - the last car I looked under the bonet at for anything other than oil & water was a Maestro, 10 years ago
TIA

To be honest I've no idea. However, Kia have a Mitsubishi heritage, so it could be as easy as an hex-headed adjuster behind a piece of trim around the handbrake lever inside the car. The Japs/Koreans tend to make things like this pretty easy to do.

If your concern is the handbrake lever is coming up too high it's always worth checking that the *self-adjusting* mechanism on the rear brakes is actually working, I'm assuming that the vehicle has rear drums, of course. Generally sorting out the correct adjustment on the shoes sorts the handbrake lever out.

Thanks guys - I'll certainly be looking around the handbrake trim in the morning. If anyone has any specific knowledge, I'd be grateful - I can't be the only Shuma driver?
