Can anyone advise as to how I remove the rear brake drum on a Ka. I tried to remove one yesterday with no luck. Are the drums held in place by a bearing hub nut or seized on the studs.
Many thanks.

You should be able to remove the whole hub and drum assembly by removing the four bolts on the suspension arm(recommended Ford way).Yes the whole hub would need to be removed doing it your way and the bearing reset afterwards.

Maybe obtaining a Haynes manual would be a good idea. If you've not seen this very common set-up before, the rest of the brake servicing info in one would be useful too.

it will doubtless need cylinders when the drum is off
consider a local independant to sort it for you peter as it is brakes and not the best thing to cut ones teeth on
no offence meant by the way

I only wanted to check the shoe thickness, Haynes it is.
Thanks everbody.
