The mayor of kiev had a car accident on saturday - his private vehicle was hit by a Volvo.
Being a succesful businessman (banker) and born again christian he has managed to balance his capitalistic activities with charitable work from within the safely cossetted environment of the first Maybach (mobile temple to bad taste) imported to the country.
Reports state that damage will have to repaired in Germany - lots of speculation on wether this refers to the Maybach or the face of the volvo driver after the alleged 'quiet chat' with his bodyguards.

I hope the Volvo driver was insured, as that is going to cost a fortune to repair.
It seems that car repairs in Kiev are not to an adequate standard, or is the Mayor expecting a complete rebuild. At least the Mayor is not being directed to the local insurance approved repairer where work is rushed due to the low rates the insurance companies pay.

That reminds me... A man hit & killed two kids on a pedestrian crossing, with his previous-shape Merc S500. According to him, the car just accelerated suddenly while waiting for the green light. Turned out there was a glitch between the 7G-Tronic autobox and an odometer. What does an odometer has to do with it all, you may ask ?
Turned out the dealer have been playing with the above mentioned odometer to make the mileage smaller (it was 2nd hand S-class). The result was a glitch in the box - such is an official statement of Daimler-Chrysler Automotive Poland. Some smart guys came all the way from Stuttgart to inspect it, but no result.
"Wir gehen nach Hause und wir take the car mit uns" was the answer.

Do you mean that clocking an S500 turns it into a dangerous rogue, VdeM? Sounds like a myth from the Spaces of the East, urban or Steppish.

More like an isolated incident, I presume.

Was that the man from the main dealer, Ashok?
Of course only they have the proper kit. Those 27 degree jemmies sell at a premium, and you can't get them unless you're in the firm.
Great to see that Lada engineering still thrives over there in Hun country.

Who is that Gigi bloke, anyway ? Steaua ... ? Bulgaria ?
And what is it all about ? Why does he have more money than sense... ?
