hello,
a few months back i was reading the Society of Operations engineers magazine and it had a whole bunch of recalls that it had pulled off of VOSA. one of the recalls i noticed was for the Cmax. the falut was said to be ' a mis-alignment of the oil feed up to the camshaft bearings' it goes on to say that the falut can cause premature wear to the bearings and/or engine failure. the trouble is it doesn't give much info on vehicle spec. no chassis numbers, doesn't say whether its petrol or diesel variant. it does however give a quantity of vehicles affected, 160. after numerous calls to ford, avoiding my helpless dealership, they couldn't tell me anything about this so called fault. has any body heard or dealt with this fault. i am concerned a little due to my car only having a year left on the warranty> cheers peeps!

Looks like the VOSA recall system is down at the moment.
However, I don't think things like that are covered by VOSA recalls anyway - they are only safety matters.
The Americans have AFAIK publicly available service bulletins that would show what you are referring to.

Vosa site is back up and running. All they have for the cmax is
# Launch Date Recalls Number Make Model(s) Concern VIN Start VIN End Build Start Build End
1 08/11/2004 R/2004/177 FORD C Max electronic parking brake may not apply 16/07/2003 08/07/2004
2 11/04/2005 R/2005/026 FORD FIESTA, FOCUS C-MAX AND FOCUS fuel return pipe leak 14/07/2004 22/02/2005
3 18/08/2005 R/2005/101 FORD FOCUS AND FOCUS C-MAX wiper motor may fail and overheat 02/04/2003 03/03/2005

If its not safety-related then VOSA not interested.
It will be an internal Ford bulletin - probably the affected cars to be dealt with during service.
