The first above link is to a disturbing (but not gory) video clip.
The second above link is a source reference (trial details).
The first link depicts an actual head-on collision between a limousine and a car. The limousine chauffeur and his 7-year old girl passenger were killed instantly (the 7-year old girl was decapitated). The car driver survived and has been convicted for murder (possible appeal pending).
The accident was caused by the car driver drunk-driving on the wrong side of the road; the limo chauffeur had no time to do anything to avoid the car.
This story resonated with me because something similar (on a much smaller scale) almost happened to me 2 years ago: I made a post here about it entitled (rather flippantly) "Small earthquake in Chile, no casualties", a pun to emphasise that it was a scary event but I got away with it with nothing worse than a clipped bumper. In my case, the other driver was on the wrong side of the road and had no insurance. The police weren't interested; and it was in the days before I had a flash camera phone (which I could have used to photograph the other car on the wrong side of the road after the accident).
Has anyone got any thoughts on the feasibility of installing grille-mounted (or dashboard-mounted) video cameras? Similar to what the cops use.

You can get some that continually write to built-in flash memory, with circular overwriting. It also has a G sensor and if a force over a certain threshold is detected, a preset length of pre-and post crash footage is saved and the unit stops recording. It can be removed and plugged into USB port. I'd buy one, but the company seemed to only sell to businesses buying lots of them along with proprietory software to read the video.
It's the sort of thing I expect to see on ebay for £40 from Honk Kong or China one day, as it's pretty generic technology these days.

Was discussed here, including links to companies selling cameras:

When I clicked on the first link I just got about a thousand pages of code.

The link won't work directly unless your web browser knows to associate wmv files with windows media player. Try right clicking the link and saving as, then open the link manually in MWP - should work.
Mods - the link is the same, I think, as a thread you shut down before. It's a clip from the associated press, a news blip obviously broadcast on american TV, I don't think there are any legal ramifications to it. It's also not gory or graphic.

The police weren't interested? Why? My recent experience of them, which has mellowed me somewhat, suggests that polite firmness gets results.....

i looked at the nothingtoxic website and found these two videos which are seasonal and i found them really enjoyable to watch/listen.
the motoring link is that the show has proved so popular that last year and this year the local streets have been jammed with traffic waiting their turn to get to this house.
safe for work only where they do not mind christmas cheer !

The 2005 xmas lights show was great, the 2006 attempt is just a poor imitation.

Nice to see Tony is getting his message about reducing carbon emissions across so well !
