Can sat nav systems be updated to include width limits?

I live in a small village in Bedfordshire. On the principal route through this village is a width restriction of 6ft 6ins. We are plagued by lorries regularly ignoring this limit indeed some are directed through the village.

Is there any way of getting the operators of sat nav to know of this problem and fixing it?

The information provided by sat navs is based on the rules applied by local authorities and National Highways, so your best option would be to contact your local authority and inform them of the problems experienced in the village. You can also try contacting the local police, as it is their responsibility to enforce restrictions such as these.
