Hi
Does anyone know how to change a brake bulb in an A4. I have bought a bulb but cannot get to the light cluster. Inside the boot is all sealed up and if I moved the trim it looks as though half the boot has to be pulled out. Was just expecting a little hatch that unclips that you put your hand through - no such luck.
The owners manual isnt much help - 'take to an Audi dealer or qualified outlet'
I cant believe that something as simple as a 99p bulb is going to cost me in labour charges to get it fitted!!

I did this a while back on my A4 Avant, although you seem to have a saloon, this info may be of help.
On the Avant there were 2 torx style screws holding the cluster on, but the key issue with removing the cluster was knowing that the whole mthing is held on to the car by hidden plastic ball & socket joints, which you just need to be brave enough to pull hard on so that the cluster comes away.
I would assume it is a similar story therefore on the saloon, ie remove any screws, and give the whole cluster a good tug to get it away from the body.

Thanks for your help and advice. I think I will take the easy way out and get a garage to do it. I'll only really get to have a good go at it when its dark which I expect is not ideal if its that complicated.
What happened to making bulb changing easy?
