Not normally a fan of Driven.
Tonight however best by a country mile IMHO.
Informative, no stupid gimmicks and a mixture of exotica and practical tests.

Colin, you made your point and that's fine. But why did you start a separate thread to make it?

Agreed, although I thought Mike Brewer was a bit dismissive of the smaller engined/manual Mercs that he hadn't tried. Not that they or the BMW (yawn) would interest me much, but I think he should stick to commenting on the model he's actually driven!
BTW, I wouldn't normally stick up for Ford, but weren't they comparing the base model Fiesta with the Sport (and more expensive) version of the Honda Jazz?

Sorry HJ hadn't seen anything specific on Driven below. Presumably you mean your thread on ? The comments I read were on another programme.
Wouldn't it be a trifle confusing if comments on the different programmes were mixed up?

What was odd was the fact that although they said the Polo was the most solid, refined, grown-up, pokey, &c of the three cars, it was the Jazz that came through as the Polo was too conservatively designed (outside and in).

Just one thing though - they said the Yaris from Motopoint was an 'up-spec' model and not the bottom of the range version as quoted for at a toyota dealer... but on the toyota website, the GS (as featured) is the bottom version!
Good otherwise tho

Bottom Yaris is the S and PAS is an option. The GS is £1,000 more than the S with PAS.

I've tried to read the various threads but apologies if someone has said this but the silver paint on that VW Polo was awful - about 3 different shades!
Thought the only thing VW was good at was paint. Perhaps it had a botched respray.
