Is it just my ISP or has the 'Older Messages' link gone from the Backroom Home page?

No. It's gone from mine too. I'll ask Stephen to fix it.

I know there are these sort of funny problems with the current phorum software. I would appreciate it if you can all put up with it until we release our own version. I am not inclined at this stage to delve into the intricacies of phorum and see what is going on.
In the new one we are writing we use a page navigation system:
1 2 3 ... 247 248 kind of thing - so "older messages" will be a thing of the past.

You can tell this is a software guy......never mind the holes in the current version, wait till you get the holes in the next version.

... only because we didn't write phorum so supporting it is harder than working on our own version. We regularly support our own legacy software - even if we are updating to new stuff, so this is rather an exception. We felt that it was better to spend our resources on development of where we want to be in this case.
On the other note here, Khoo is my surname - so khoosys - even with jokes etc. at least is memorable! I'm all for that.
I also do NOT own the forum. We merely provide the development and hosting of this site - just like we do for other clients, and occasionally are asked to manage this forum.
If you had a .com, does your ISP or folk who develop it rule you? I think not - rather it is a partnering relationship.

It looks like this guy Stephen is the "Landlord" or "Godfather" who owns and operates this web site. HJ seems to be just leasing the space from him.

Sounds like he's on the ball, though. I look forward to the new version!
In return for which, a small joke:
A mechanical engineer, an electrical engineer and a software engineer were travelling together when their car broke down. Mechanical man checks the fuel, radiator, brakes and fan-belt, with no result. Electrical man checks the ignition, fuses and battery, still with no result. They turn to the software man, who suggests that they all get out and then get back in again...

Stephen Khoo is a top systems man and we are extremely lucky to have him. All you guys (and girsl) who take The Backroom for granted should know that it costs at least £5,000 a month to run. If it wasn't for Stephen and for Robinson Publishing, our sponsor, the only honestjohn website you would have would be my old Frontpage version from a few years ago with no Backroom at all.

The solution is to change the view option from "collapsse threads" to "view threads" and you will see the older threads button.

Many thanks from all of us to Stephen for restoring the Older Messages button.
