Going to look at a 1996 1.8i Honda Accord today.
What sort of things should I be look out for on this sort of car? (I've never owned a Honda before).
Thanks for any help.

Rust on the rear wheel arches seems to be common on most Hondas of this vintage. Other than that, make sure it has a good service record, because as HJ says himself, Hondas need six monthly oil changes (VTEC engines). Extremely good cars, very reliable, good luck!

Electric window mechanisms play up in my experience. But not much more !

If it has aircon make sure it has the later gas in it, so it can be legally recharged if needed.

If its '96 it will defintely have R134a in it (the 'later' type). I think Honda moved from R12 to R134a before '95.
Not bad cars. Check for cam noise and all the usual stuff you'd check on any car. Make sure ABS and engine management warning lights etc come on and go out in the correct sequence (bulbs not been taken out?).

Thanks for the help.
Bought it yesterday. Very nice drive back from middlesex to kent it was too.
The only problem (hopefully the only one) which is no big deal is the remote key fob.
Please see my post in tech matters if you can help.
Cheers again for the help.
