Mondeo ST24 - Marcus

I would appreciate any comments on the ST24 - don't think I can stretch to an
ST200 - they seem good value for performance, but what would it be like to live with, what should I watch out for, etc?
Re: Mondeo ST24 - Mark (Brazil)
I rented one a little while ago. If you search for ST24 you should find it.

I loved it. The only complaint was I found the torque-steer a little vicious. But other than that I really enjoyed it.

Fast, flexible, handled well, quiet, comfortable, a little harsh on the bum perhaps, but that's the nature of the beast.

There are only a couple of comments from me and one or two others about the car, the remainder is on quite another subject, but you'll get the idea that people liked them.
Re: Mondeo ST24 - Guy Lacey
Yep - used to get these cars through the company and the only Mondeo I have ever enjoyed driving. Fantastic suspension, nice engine but won't set the road alight, fab on the motorway and all the toys. Go for the saloon version - they looked better.

Don't think you can go far wrong except it was thirsty and you can't run it on LPG! . . . . and that torquesteer (can be fun with the traction control off tho)
Re: Mondeo ST24 - Rob S
Can you enlighten me as to why it can't run on LPG, I know that there are several engines that those in the know say can't convert to LPG and I'm curious as to why.

Thanks,

Rob S
Re: Mondeo ST24 - Keith
I know that ford 1.8 petrol engines from some time (99 on I think) have mechanical shimmed tappets rather than hydraulic.

The mechanical tappets cant compensate for the increased wear on the valve seats due to the LPG and therefore Ford recommend that these cars are not converted to LPG.
