if she doesnt know the barrel numbers (ford wont)then the 3 alternatives are
take a door barrel out that she knows will work the ignition and take this to ford and ask them to cut a key from this barrel
she can then take the ignition lock of and get car towed to dealers and plugged in for them to code the keys to the imobilisor all in with the red ket the first original cut key and the labour and coding about £140/
alternative 2 let the mobile man do all this on site (price depends where you live and the competition to do the job as said ask for a FIRM quote)wont be much less if any though from the ford quote.
alternative 3 get a full lock set from a breaker complete with the black imobilisor box and swap the lot (usuallly £100 ish this way)tell breaker year and model if going this route.

The next post after this one is not strictly true, as my last car, a Fiesta lx on a W plate needed a spare key. Off i trots to Ye Olde Ford Shoppe at the dealer and all they asked for was my vin no. and reg no. and hey presto one key cut that worked first time.
Apparantly ford keep key no.s on the original build sheet which is linked to the vin no.
Hope this is some use to you.

"vauxhall, yes, everytime, right back to "L" reg. Fords.......narrrr" - better?
If you take a door lock apart you will be able to read the code yourself. I'm not sure you'll be able to put it together again though! For code reading look here www.fordscorpio.co.uk/doorlockbld.htm
