Just got the Makro catalogue through the door and as well as a video recorder for £40, there's a Jag X-type on the cover for £17,500 - am I going mad? Is this a block exemption thing?
Quote "Jaguar X Type 2.5 v6 free delivery 12 months road tax - Suppliers suggested selling price £19,459.27 - our price £17,499.99" prod no. 146567
I'm going to pop down there now - there's nothing on the web site about it.
God knows how it's going to fit in the trolley though.........

Makro is ownedby a German firm METRO and it is common practice to sell anything through their euro network .I can by a Jag in Germany cheaper than you can buy a mondeo.

Superb - how much is this model in Germany? - Jag site lists the 2.5 base model at £22k - I wasn't that taken with the X Type - but this will make me reconsider.
|
You have to look at what Metro have in the week loaded Jag x2.5 auto will cost around 20000ukps in lhd and recovering the VAT makes it a good buy.

Ah - this is plus vat so more like £20.5k - still interesting that it's Jaguars even though they are Fords. I wouldn't be so surpirsed if they were selling Kia Prides or whatever alongside the white goods.
The shape of things to come I think :-)

They have been selling cars in supemarkets in Germany for years normally they are end of line models ,last year they where selling puntos of for approx half the uk price in Netto supermarkets

Just the start i think. Tesco have confirmed they will enter the car market in September (just think of those clubcard points).
Also noticed Trade sales have a few Jags for sale now. A bit cheeky especially with a Franchised Jaguar dealer next door !
|
It seems:-
1. One can get a car much below the dealers price.
1. Most of us are too frightened to stand up against the dealers threats!

There are three sorts of people in this world.
Those that can count and those that can't.
