Has anyone experienced the following fault on current Golfs? Trip computer display cuts out frequently and for long periods. This started at 21,000 miles, and 12 months old. Was very occasional at first, but now ( 6 weeks later) is frequently missing. Vehicle is 115 PS Diesel, 5 door.

Yep - the dealer replaced one on a customers car under warranty, 3 week wait for a UK spec display though.

The trip computer of our '86 mk II has been out for years. Rev counter also only works when the engine is hot. Think its a dried out contact, but not worth looking for it on a car worth nothing.

The trip computer on my old 1989 GTI shed reads a constant 99.9mpg - wishful thinking!
