Fiat Mastercare - Lekas
My Punto 1.2 ELX Speedgear has a 3-year warranty. Fiat offer to extend this for two further years and a total of 60,000 miles (which is all I need) for £279. Does this seem a good deal? HJ has expressed doubts about the longevity of the CVT transmission.

Sounds good to me in principle - 140 quid a year for some scurity.

But did you check the warranty, and in particular its exclusions ? For all I know it might exclude the gearbox !!

Just had an Alfa 156 owner tell me his official Alfa 3-year warranty claim was turned down for a failed starter motor because it was gummed up with clutch dust. Will take this up with FIAT/Alfa UK next week. But £279 to extend a warranty for two years is cheap if it properly covers the CVT box.
