Either all your shopping is rolling around or you may have a defective brake pad ot cracked brake disc. This can be seriuos so get it checked out soon. Where do you live. Regards Peter

found out it was the rear brake drum thats cracked/damaged...is this expensive to repair or best get second hand??
help!

There may be more to this that meets the eye as the wheel bearing may be the reason the drum is damaged. Not espensive to fix and an easy job for an independant garage, it's bread and butter stuff. Where abouts are you , someone on the forum may well de able to direct you a decent garage. Regards Peter

This is probably not your problem - but would do no harm to check. My mum's 1994 Clio developed a thumping noise from the front going down hills on left lock. Took me ages to realise that the front mudflap had got a twist and was rubbing on the tyre on lock - but of course with the wheel back in 'straight ahead' position everything looked fine.
A loose wheeltrim (or stone trapped in wheeltrim) might also produce an odd rattle - but this would probably be a more continuous, rhythmic rattle!
The car also had a problem with a sheared bolt - holding the front anti roll bar to the bottom link of the suspension - apparently a common fault. Cheap and easy to fix.
Brakes should be checked first though.

Sorry - didn't read all the posts in detail! Ignore previous post - unless someone else has a rattly Clio!
