Because when Stuart asked me to test it, I didn't pay attention.
That's why the edit button is the same colour as the background, and everybody has to just click around to the left of the search option until they find it.
We also didn't do the authorisations properly, and so its a little inconsistent as to what you can, and cannot, edit.

There are five existing and visible options...
New Topic | Go to Top | Go to Topic | Flat View | Search
The Edit option is only available in "Threaded View" since it has to know which reply you are editing.
In threaded view, select the note you want to edit. If you move the mouse pointer around to the right of the "Search" option, and clik repeatedly, you should get it.
Sadly, Martyn has taken back control of the system so we can change the colour to make it always visible.
