Does anybody know how I'd reset the fuel cut-off switch after a sudden stop, please?
I know where the switch is (under the bonnet, between the battery and the ECU), it seems to have a rubber cover over it.
Do I need to prise this cover off or will this damage it?
Thanks.

Not sure, but don't you just press down on the rubber cover?

IIRC you press it down and it should stay there.

Thanks - I suspected it might be someting like this.

A sudden stop should not trigger the switch, an inpact or a hard landing or a pot hole may but not under braking. Regards Peter

From what I remember of a friends old Rover 200, the switch is very sensitive. His switch was somewhere behind the centre console, and he or a passenger only had to tap the side of the console with their foot for the switch to trigger and cut off the fuel.
