1.8 What size'star drive' socket for brakes ? - welshy
Tried to change my brake pads front today on a new shape Vauxhall Vectra . I need to remove two star drive headed bolts , but don't have the correct socket to use. Does anyone know what size it is please ? Its a 1.8 new shape Vectra .

SLT'd and filed into drop down catagories on behalf of poster. Bit like having a dog and barking youself

What size please ? Vectra (C) brakes - lby
I have just changed mine, and I just used a standard metric socket, I think it was either 15 or 16 m. I just fished around until something fitted. The only problem I had was that the warning display on the dashboard did not go out when I had finished. But the pads were worn so may be I now need a new sensor.

and no need to quote the one post in this thread - hardly a mystery which one you're replying to is it ?

if you are changing the pads then you wont need to undo the torx's bolts you need a 7mm allen key

and why dont 7mm allen keys come on sets? is it to stop diy,ers messing with the brakes?

Correct - you need to replace as the sensor is separate to the pad.
