Hi,
Does anyone have any experience of the Kenlowe electric engine preheater:

Robert,
Try a search of this forum, loads of discussion a month or two back.
I'm quite tempted to get one for the Land Rover we will use soon for shortish runs, just the cost that clouds the decision.
PS. Did you get the virus sorted OK?

I fitted one to a 3.9 Range Rover. It was hard to find somewhere for it to fit that was low enough down, plus you had to leave it on for ages before it got much heat into the engine. I think the engine/gearbox etc loses heat almost as quickly as the 3kw heater could put it in. It would take about 2.5 hours in a garage before it would get the engine to half operating temp. Plus you had to keep setting the timer to coincide with the time you left the next day. I found myself forever thinking 'right, I'm going to leave about 9.00 tomorrow, so I need to go out and set the timer as I left at 7.00 this morning'. If you really want to invest, then you need to go for the Webasto unit that uses the engines fuel and has a timer you can set from the dsh or via remote control. Andrew from Germany has just got one of these I think, so I'm sure he'll add his comments shortly.
