A friend of mine was quoted £240 to fit new discs and pads on his 2000 Disco.Thinking this a little pricey I offered to do it for him and ordered Quinton Hazel discs and Mintex pads(£97.88).In the meantime he has been warned against doing the job himself as it is not as straightforward as other vehicles.
Has anyone done this job and found it problematic?I am a part time mechanic but do not have any Landrover experience.Any info appreciated.

sierraman,it all depends on the front axle as the earlier ones had the brake disc on the inside of the hub resulting in partial dismantling of the hub,the later ones are on the outside and ony held by screw and the wheel nuts and are very easy to do, The best thing to do is take a front wheel of and see .Be very careful with the parts you use as there are quite a few variations of the discs and pads ,some with not much differance between them .not too difficult to do though, hope this helps

Thanks for that Defender,as this is a 2000 model I think it will fall into the latter catergory.
