Anyone out there running a Nissan Terrano 2 built within the last couple of years? Do these cars still leave the factory with the front wheel geometry mis-set, needing re-alignment by the dealer to prevent horrendous and uneven front tyre wear?
I ask because I have run both a 1993 Maverick and a 1999 Terrano with this problem. I am sorely tempted to buy one of the new Terranos that are so cheap these days but don't want to go through all that hassle to get the dealer to align the front wheels.

Chris,
What does this re-alignment involve? Expensive? I guess the local Nissan dealer would need to take it in to check it out and advise if it needs doing? We are running a 1998 model and have never had Nissan dealer servicing done. Car only does 5,000 miles a year and has had uneven front tyre wear resulting in several unexpected new tyres after a low milage. Tracking was checked recently and OK. Put it down to the type of vehicle. Previous owner had it for 3 years and did 10,000 miles year and would have thought he would have noticed something and got it sorted.
Any more information you have on this subject would be useful. Thanks.

Really, its no big deal. Don't bother taking it the dealer. Once its settled down (couple of thousand miles) take it to a four-wheel alignment place and get them to set it up. Not expensive, and well worth it with any car.
