On my 1997 Vectra V6, I have renewed the following;
Front discs and pads
Master cylinder including brakes system bleeding.
The brakes are improved slightly,but there is still the symptom of air in the system.
Has any Back Roomer any ideas or suggestions?

Hi chartsurv,
As a first diagnostic step, I would clamp off all of the flexible hoses using appropriate brake pipe clamp tools, i.e., not mole grips!
If this gives you a firm pedal, then, one by one, remove the clamps. If you find removing one clamp in particular makes the pedal go spongy, then you should investigate further at that wheel.
If you find that no particular wheel is causing the problem, then, perhaps, you need to try a different technique of bleeding the brakes.

Does the brake pedal creep to the floor if you keep your foot on the pedal? If it does ,then i would suggest you have a faulty ABS valve unit .They suffer with an internal leak that allows the brake fluid to pass the internal valves.(common fault on this model,not cheap to fix,parts about £600!!!.)

Its possible that air is in the abs module and this can only be cleared by bleeding system and the abs module activated with the tech1 thingy that the dealers use I would go this route first as even if you get a new abs unit it will have to be bled this way to remove air out of abs unit hope it helps
