Hi there
My Toyota Supra MkIV auto. won't start!
If I shunt the auto. transmission lever quickly downwards
out of Park then up again it fires up - until recently that is.
Now it has died a death again.
Asking around, diagnoses have been:
1) Duff starter motor
2) Duff gear box!?
3) Duff Inhibitor switch (if it's faulty it might
be thinking I'm in gear when I'm not and therefore
won't start)
Any opinions and details of recommended technicians (SE Surrey/Redhill/Crawley area) would be much appreciated.
All the best

Symptoms? Assume the lights are ok, battery is charged, ignition light comes on at the right moment?
Given all that above works, and given your previous symptoms with the gear lever would say the inhibiter switch is the numero uno suspect.

Duff Inhibitor switch.used to be a common problem.

Thanks very much to
Renault Family & Mech1.
I will certainly have the inhibitor
switch checked.
