My Dad has a 2002 corsa 1.2 16v comfort, covered just 3500 miles. He has broken down twice in the last couple of weeks with intermittent electrical failure. Driving along normally. he hears a clicky, arcing sort of sound and everything goes dead on the dash and engine dies, though the hazard flashers still work.
The car starts normally after a few minutes. The dealer had a good look after the first breakdown but didn't find anything wrong, and replaced the ignition switch connector just in case. But it broke down again today!
Has anyone got any knowledge of this or any ideas please?

I've heard this fault is caused by earthing problems.I believe new earths need to be fitted between battery negative and engine block and engine ECU.Suggest ask your dealer about this.
