Which one should I choose?

I'm at that age now to try a convertible before it's too late!

Diesel 250, SLK is 7 speed tronic, euro 5.

SLC is 9 speed tronic, euro 6.

I don't really need euro 6.

SLC is definitely addblue, which worries me, SLK, I don't think is addblue.

Anyone know the difference, real world, between the two boxes?

I read the 9 speed gives more mpg on paper!

And reliability of the adblue systems on these cars.

Both are priced around £13k-£15k

I've had a newish c300d but with a different engine, which was unreliable, and I was unimpressed, so got rid.

Why do you need a diesel. ? Emissions systems on these are far too complicated to be reliable.

I enjoy the torque of a diesel.

Most of my journeys are between 120-220 miles.

I use my wife's petrol Twingo 3 for round the door stuff.

I'm used to 3 litre V6, but my last car was a 2ltr 4 pot merc.

Nice car but constantly overheated?

Which petrol engine would you suggest?

Euro 5 unreliable? Never had a problem witha euro 5 diesel doing my milage.

Tbh , non of the current breed of petrol or diesel MB engines are particularly reliable , nor are the BMW equivalents . Perhaps look at a different brand ?

ULEZ requires Euro 6 or charge needs to be paid.

It would be little surprise if over time other large cities followed Londons example - certainly Bristol needs Euro 6 diesels to be exempt from charges.

Possibly not a deal breaker if you only go into city areas infrequently
