Just thinking about the future with my old auris.

Does engine check light come on if battery issue, cos if it did, then that's an MOT fail I believe.

Engine check light could come on for any malfunction in the system . No different to a petrol or Diesel engined vehicle.

your drive battery is warrantied for 15 years (subject to annual check & t&cs).

Your 12v accessory battery will be the same as any other.
