Ev world record - Ethan Edwards

For those concerned about driving an EV on a slightly moist day, here in the UK.

Check out this clip.

Now I know you lot are concerned about limited range, and to be fair this record is only 7km, but it is under the sea, 30metres under the sea.

Impressive no?

Passing resemblance to driving around West Yorkshire last weekend (in an EV).

Why, when there are already perfectly capable submersibles. I wonder how much damage they caused to the marine environment for this needless stunt?

About as much as five minutes bottom-trawling for your sea-food dinner?

Did anyone else get a completely different interpretation of this?

This just reminded me of the chap on the stand next to me at COP 26 in Glasgow a couple of years ago.
His concept was that of electric, cargo carrying submarines. Each could carry one standard shipping container, would be unmanned and would travel in fleets between ports. I think the idea was you’d miss the worst of the weather. He envisioned these subs supplying the islands of the Caribbean, or similar archipelago.
They’d also have external filters for capturing micro plastics en route, but he didn’t explain how they captured the plastics and not small marine life.
I’ve not seen anything of it since.
