Skoda Karoq - New (to me) car day - Adampr

Collected the Karoq this afternoon.

I was a little sad to say goodbye to my Toledo; I'll miss its massive boot, roomy interior (for four) and ruthless lack of glamour. I probably won't miss its lack of refinement and weirdly unsettled rear end.

The Karoq brought my son and me home 45 miles on a mix of motorways and country roads and felt extremely comfortable. The 1.5tsi seems powerful enough but still needs to kick the DSG down when overtaking.

I'm quite pleased with my tables and cupholders in the back. I suspect the powered tailgate will become a mixed blessing, likewise the cream leather interior...

Finally, I asked for a towbar to be fitted by the dealer. It was eye-wateringly expensive but, within the overall deal, wasn't too bad. When I arrived to collect, I couldn't see it, then found out that it is a powered retractable one. That would explain the cost, but I'm not sure pulling a trailer tent twice a year is going to justify the expense.

Cream leather isn't an issue - I specifically ordered cream leather on my VW Touareg as I hate the standard black - we use it for weekend trips with 5 bird-watchers who often get in covered in mud, etc - the leather cleans off very easy.

Just enjoy the car!

Sounds a nice car. I'm not a fan of leather, I find it too hot on a summer's day but it is durable. Certainly a light leather would be my preference to the traditional darker hides. Please update us with your findings as you put miles on it.

I'm with you on leather. I have had two cars with leather seats (or faux leather) a Citroen XM and my current Sorento. I find you stick to it on hot days if you're wearing shorts and you get quite sweaty. It is easy to clean thobut.

I have found denim is the main problem for making cream leather dirty.

Apparently baby wipes fetch it off.

Although I imagine leather cleaner works!

I'd be very interested to hear how you get on. As for leather, my BM has cream leather and has been just fine. It is also not sticky in hot weather - unlike a Merc A class I test drove that was noticeably sticky, quite horrid compard to the BM. It was inly sfter the test drive was over that the dealer admitted that it was actually artificial leather.

I had a Superb with that cream leather.

I loved the look however watch the side bolster on the entrance side.

If you aren't cautious as you enter and leave, it can start to show wear quite quickly

Watch metal buttons on jeans back pockets!
