I travelled a few miles out of York ( escrick A19) to pay £181, cheapest so far in our area, we have a Tesco and bp near each other, the bp is currently £192, litre, it’s always been more expensive than nearly anywhere else at its height a few weeks ago £196, it used to go up daily, not sure what’s going on there as I said, Tesco nearby,
Rarely have I ever seen fuel to be cheap at a BP filling station - the cheapest they ever got was at the 'Dome' roundabout on the A41 in Watford where it was (at best) a penny per litre more than the Sainsbury's and Asda, matching the Shell outlet. But that was 15+ years ago and the filling station closed, presumably because they couldn't attract enough trade.
My local BPs (A505, A10, etc) are currently about 8p/L more expensive than the Esso (in town) for E10.
TBH contrary to years gone by, when the supermakets always lowered prices to attract customers to the main shop, they are amongst the last (not Cosco) to drop prices at the moment, perhaps because they are already raking in big profits from inflated grocery prices. My local Esso has been cheaper than Tesco next door for the best part of the last 5 months now.
